The workshops 2010-11

Since 2002 the CDM organizes in Rome a longer training course for teachers and music teachers working in nursery and primary schools, entitled "Orff-Schulwerk - Elemental Music and Dance Education". Since 2007 the course is realized by CDM in collaboration with the University of Rome "Tor Vergata".

The course is shaped in such a form so as to respect the guidelines for teacher training courses given by the Orff-Schulwerk Forum, Salzburg.

Regularly included within this course are workshops given by teachers from the Orff-Institute, University "Mozarteum" – Salzburg, Austria, or belonging to the Orff-Schulwerk international circle.

The workshops offered in 2010-2011 will be:

MOVEMENT AND DANCE IN MUSIC EDUCATION

• parameters of movement: body, space, time, energy (experience, recognition, practice, structure)
• comparison with parameters in other arts from improvisation to elemental coreography (themes, criteria, methodology)
• different approaches to invention in movement: starting from games, music, texts, images, objects, sculptures...
• music in the movement – movement in the music
• integration of the arts

• developing psycho-social skills in children: music and movement games to enhance identity, relatioships and cooperation
• using different ways to communicate: individual activity - interaction with a partner - small group work
• inclusion of disabled children
• socio-emotional education between self-fulfillment and group adaptation
• music and movement as a means to promote wellbeing in the group

• integration of different expressive means: music, movement, speech, drama, costumes
• integration in the group: differentiating task and roles in order to respect and promote the participant skills, desires and learning modes
• criteria for material selection and arrangement
• feasible models for the staging of a Music-Theatre performance
• group involvement in the decision-making process

Organization 																										

Each workshop costs 95 euros.
Payment is due at the beginning of the course.

It is advisable to wear comfortable clothes for movement and dance shoes (or proper socks or barefoot)

All participants will receive hand-outs and a certificate of participation to the workshop.

The CDM is accredited by the Ministry of Education as a teacher training institution.

How to reach us:

Buses: from Termini station take the bus number 36 or 84
Underground: from the station "ponte Mammolo" of the line B (metro B), take the bus 341
In both cases get off at the bus stop "Vigne Nuove / Lumière"
From Via delle Vigne Nuove turn to the right for Viale Pasinetti.
Going down on Viale Pasinetti, via Amleto Palermi is a road on the left.
The gate of our venue is immediately on the right after a football field (there is no number on the gate).
Follow the path and get to the staircase: the CDM venue is on the first floor.
