CDM hosted the 11th Community Music Activity International Seminar

The CDM onlus Centro Didattico Musicale is proud to have hosted in Rome the 11th Community Music Activity International Seminar, within the works of the 28th ISME World Conference in Italy.

Community Music Activity is meant for all music educators who work in informal settings - youth groups and centers, prisons or reformatories, hospitals, churches, social services - or those educators who work in formal settings and wish to have stronger connections to wider concepts of music and music education.
The themes that have been explored were: 1. Community Music and the Criminal Justice System - 2. CM and Well-being - 3. CM and Faith, Religion and Ritual - 4. CM and Leadership - 5. CM and Social Capital

The Seminar has been held in the Auditorium Parco della Musica of Rome, the most prestigious concert hall of the city, thanks to the generosity of the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia, that put at our disposal their spaces.

Valentina Iadeluca and Andrea Sangiorgio, hosts of the Seminar, have contributed to the works of the seminar with a presentation on the experience of “Bambini al Centro” (Children in the Centre), a project running since 1999 in Rome and financed by the Italian State.
