The goal of the
workshop was to show some possibilities to integrate the cognitive
approach of E.Gordon's Music Learning Theory within the pedagogical
concept of the Orff-Schulwerk.
Basics: speech, music and movement as a unit - Thinking music, producing
music: focus on the creative musical mind - Enhancing audiation through
using tonal and rhythm patterns in coordination with dancing, singing,
chanting and playing – Music instruments as an extension of
the inner audiation instrument – From experience to knowledge:
developmental stages of cognitive skills and music literacy - Aside
and beyond cognitive processes in music learning: emotion, motivation,
interpersonal relationships, integration with other arts
The workshop has
been illustrated in the book "In Dialogue" about the Symposium
published by Schott.
